GRANTS AND AWARDS
Gilman International Scholarship Program
The Gilman International Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad. Students must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application and cannot be studying abroad in a country currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning or in Cuba. Deadline for fall semester study abroad: April 15, 2008.

4/17 VSB's Student-focused Commercial Real Estate Conference
As part the formal opening of the Center, we invite students from your college/program to participate in the first annual student-focused Commercial Real Estate Conference scheduled for Thursday, April 17, in the Villanova Room of the Connelly Center. The first portion of the conference (4:30-6 PM) will include panel presentations featuring real estate professionals and a keynote address by Mr. DiLella, followed by a Networking Reception (6-7:30 PM) that will allow students to "meet and greet" with professionals from the real estate industry (there may be the opportunity to share resumes, as well). The conference is open to all Villanova University undergraduate and graduate students. Business professional attire is encouraged; refreshments will be provided at the Reception. We're asking students to arrive by 4:15 p.m., with their Wildcard, so that can register and receive a nametag before the kick-off of the program.

Dr. Sandra Steingraber: Ecologist, author, and cancer survivor. "Contaminated Without Consent: How Exposures to Chemical Pollutants Violate Human Rights and What We Can Do About It." Thursday, April 17, 7:30 p.m., Connelly Center Cinema. Sandra Steingraber, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized expert on the environmental links to cancer and reproductive health. In 1997, Steingraber was named a Ms. Magazine Woman of the Year.
