Chemistry Homework Help

Devising a Professional Development Plan
Professional Development Plans assist students and professionals in achieving their goals. This workshop prepares students to develop an Individual Professional Development Plan for their educational pursuits and professional interests. Students will learn steps they can take now to investigate their interests, and determine what they want their professional future to look like. They will learn strategies to develop a plan including how to identify strengths, recognize talents, identify values, develop skills or competencies, develop goals, analyze needs, conduct a self assessment, identify learning priorities, recognize their definition of work, evaluate their work style, and develop networking skills such as informational interviewing to recognize and achieve their goals. Students will learn how activities can enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities, and how developing a plan can empower them to pursue their aspirations by making them realistic goals. Professional Opportunities Workshop
This workshop introduces you to professional opportunities by teaching you how to use career resources available through Falvey Library and internet resources. You begin by assessing transferable skills, qualities, and personality characteristics and then apply this information to occupations, jobs, and professions. You will learn strategies to investigate positions and will identify skills that need further development. Students will learn how to market themselves for professional opportunities. This workshop provides the skills necessary to make the connection between students’ strengths and interests to students’ knowledge about how these strengths and interests are applicable in professions. GRANTS AND AWARDS
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
On behalf of the Office of Academic Affairs, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the College of Engineering, the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships is pleased to announce the fourth annual CALL FOR PROPOSALS by the Villanova University Undergraduate Student Collaborative Research Program. Undergraduates from all of the Colleges may apply for funding to undertake a scholarly research project with a Faculty Sponsor. Research projects may be conducted during the fall or spring semesters, or over the summer. Students funded by the program will receive a stipend of $1,000 for fall or spring projects, and $3,500 for summer projects.

James Madison Fellowships
The Foundation is seeking applicants with a demonstrated commitment to a career in teaching American history, American government, or social studies at the secondary level. Junior fellowships are awarded to students who are about to complete, or have completed, their undergraduate course of study and intend to pursue full-time graduate work. National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Scholarship
The Institute of International Education (IIE) is accepting applications for the 2009-2010 National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Scholarships for undergraduate students for study abroad. The 2009-2010 Boren Scholarships provide funding for summer, semester, or yearlong study in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. national security, but are underrepresented in study abroad. After completion of the program, recipients are required to work in the Federal government for a period of time equal to the duration of the assistance provided under the program. Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship Program
The Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship Program provides undergraduate and graduate funding to participants as they are prepared academically and professionally to enter the United States Department of State Foreign Service. Women, members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and students with financial need are encouraged to apply. Students who apply during their sophomore year are eligible for funding for their junior and senior years of college and paid State Department summer internships in Washington and overseas. Graduating seniors and recent graduates are able to apply for the graduate fellowship which includes funding for their first and second year of graduate school and paid State Department internships in Washington and overseas.

2009 Summer Editorial Internship
The Philadelphia Business Journal seeks college students for its paid editorial internship. Candidates should have some previous writing experience and be able to commit to 20 hours a week for the term. Editorial internships pay $8/hr and include opportunities to write bylined features. The deadline to apply is February 13, 2009. Starting and ending dates are negotiable but preference will go to the candidate who can begin in late May and work until replaced by a fall intern in late August or early September. The Philadelphia Business Journal is a weekly local business newspaper serving Southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey. In 2008 and 2006, the newspaper was named Newspaper of the Year by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Foundation and in 2005 we were named general excellence winner by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. Regional Internship with Catholic Relief Services
Each fall the Northeast Regional Office of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) (located 10 minutes from campus) offers a three-credit academic internship placement for a qualified "rising junior" in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The student intern must be available to work in the CRS office on Thursdays only, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the entire semester. The intern will assist the CRS Justice and Peace Liaison with research and preparing presentations and materials for use in CRS outreach. Catholic Relief Services is the international relief and development agency of the U.S. Catholic community. The application deadline for the Fall 2009 CRS Internship is Friday, February 6, 2009.

20th Annual Elizabeth Cady Stanton Conference
The 20th Annual Elizabeth Cady Stanton Conference will be held Thursday, March 19, 2009. The event will culminate in a keynote address by Linda Greenhouse, the Supreme Court reporter for The New York Times. Every spring, the Gender and Women's Studies program organizes the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Conference to highlight and celebrate the incisive work produced by students from all across campus during the previous year. It features a number of panels where both undergraduate and graduate students present their work, as well as a keynote address from an invited scholar.

POLIS Literary Magazine is accepting submissions for its Spring 2009 Issue up to February 27. For this issue of POLIS, we are looking for essays, short stories, poetry, photography, and artwork that all connect to the central theme of contrast. Contrasts exist everywhere in our world - city/country, tradition/ innovation, truth/fiction. Explore how a stark contrast has shaped your point of view. Or reflect on how two seemingly dissimilar things have connected in ways you never anticipated. Whatever your viewpoints, express them.
