The
Ancient Practice of Spiritual Direction
According to Jesuit Fathers William A. Barry and William J.
Connolly, "spiritual direction is concerned with helping a
person directly with his or her relationship with God. It may
well be that in each of (our) human problems... the most
fundamental issue is that relationship and it's underlying
questions "Who is God for me, and who am I for (God)?""
Linda Jaczynski, Associate Director of Campus Ministry, offers a
brief reflection on spiritual direction at Villanova.

COV =
Involvement
Community Outreach of Villanova, - COV for short (pronounced
“cove”), is Campus Ministry’s oldest running service program.
Its roots go back to the early 1980’s when students and campus
ministers responded to the growing phenomena of homelessness by
organizing the Villanova Committees for the Philadelphia
Homeless.
Will Stehl,
Associate Director of Campus Ministry, offers his thoughts on
why and how the program makes a difference in the lives of those the
served as well as those who serve.

CRS Global
Solidarity Network (GSN) Study e-Broad
The Villanova
/ Catholic Relief Services Partnership has provided many
valuable opportunities for our students and faculty, since its
inception in 2005. One of the most convenient is the CRS Study
e-Broad Program. While you may not be able to take your classes
to Brazil or one of the other 99 countries where CRS works, the
GSN can bring the on-the-ground experience and analysis of CRS
staff into the classroom at Villanova.
The GSN is a web-based
participatory learning community that connects students and
faculty in the United States to CRS policy experts and technical
staff working on the front lines of humanitarian relief and
development around the world. The purpose is to engage more
deeply students in global issues of pressing concern.
Suzanne
Toton, Associate Professor of Theology & Religious Studies,
coordinates the VU/CRS Partnership for the Office for Mission &
Ministry and provides details about spring semester programming
efforts.
